Minnesota Radon Testing
Radon is the leading cause of cancer for non-smokers!
Radon is an odorless, tasteless, and colorless gas formed by the radioactive breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water. It can penetrate any type of building and can build-up to high levels. Radon gas decays into radioactive particles that can get trapped in your lungs when you breathe. As these particles breakdown further, they release small bursts of energy. This can damage lung tissue and lead to lung cancer over the course of a lifetime. Unfortunately, the only way to know the radon concentration in your home is to test!
The EPA recommends that all homes be tested for radon. If you live in an area where elevated radon levels are sometimes detected, it is strongly recommended that you have a radon screening test performed. If your house or building is in an area where radon levels are generally low, it is up to you to decide whether to have a radon screening preformed. Just because a building is in an area with typically low radon levels does not means that the radon level in the particular building you are purchasing will be low.
It kills more people than drunk driving, fires and drownings combined.
The U.S. Surgeon General said radon-induced lung cancer kills 21,000 people every year. It kills 1,000 Minnesotans each year. (WCCO)
